The Progressive Movement Marches On: What Shall We Do With the Free Man?

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!!” – Samuel Adams
     Brevity shall be my father as I protest America’s sudden re-entry into slavery.  There shall be no great literary score to hide my disdain for the actions of many that have voiced a greater need for dependency, vowed to exchange political rights for economic promises and voted to curry favor with those that marshal forces to oppress an exceptional nation.  My voice shall be loud and abrasive to those that have silently compromised principles with a broth of noble intentions and well meant policies.  This day finds me in great kinship with the fervency of statesman Samuel Adams.  I fear not the wrath of the wicked nor the pretense of those that wade lightly into the brisk currents of political correctness.  Since the close of the Civil War, the Progressive Movement has asked, “What Shall We Do With the Free Man?”  The Movement has evolved into such great strength that today Americans have given it a resounding response, “Make Us Slaves of the Government!”

     By 11:00 AM on June 28, 2012, conservative groups and politicians were e-mailing laments over the United States Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) ruling on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).  SCOTUS upheld Obama Care as constitutional based on Congress’ taxing authority.  It was a ruling that brought the most ornery Conservative to his knees as if laboring for air from a swift kick to the sternum.  Republicans celebrated this as an assurance of President Barack Obama’s electoral liability and that Chief Justice John Glover Roberts, Jr. was exceedingly clever in hanging the tax anchor about the campaigns of multiple liberals.  How empty this refrain became when played by Mitt Romney’s Campaign.  One moment, Romney sounded as a sincere champion of the Tenth Amendment by stating that he would work for the repeal of Obama Care from Day One.  Within a matter of a weekend, the Romney Campaign finds itself agreeing with the Obama Administration that SCOTUS was wrong, Obama Care is not a TAX!  If you were looking to give leery conservatives confidence in your commitment to Classical Republican principles then, Romney, you lack the wherewithal to provide it.  Other politicians jumped into the ocean of political opportunity to harvest the discontent of the masses.  Their general intent was to provoke Tea Partiers around the world to raise funds for their campaigns.  O, if you don’t send me $10 then, there will be no hope of changing our future.   I fault them not for they are merely doing what their industry requires: take advantage of the sheep!  When the fold surrenders its pursuit of life and liberty for Esau’s supper then, the wolves have no more natural order then to pillage the weak.

      I have come to the conclusion that Americans have lost the battle over whether health care is a right or a privilege.  I believe that Progressives have achieved their great accomplishment: Equality.   Our Founding Fathers introduced Liberty through the US Constitution’s protection of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Feeling the US Constitution was inadequate, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 80 years ago, ushered in the second generation of human rights called economic rights: social security, education, housing, etc.  Progressives, as both Democrats and Republicans, assaulted the Constitution in every branch of government and even the watchdog press.  Their last undone achievement was universal health care.   Obama achieved that in his presidency.   It is a precedent.  Why do you call it a precedent?  It is something done or said that may serve as an example or rule to authorize or justify a subsequent act of the same or an analogous kind.  Precedents are essential to rooting stability in law and society.  I used the same dictionary that George Stephanopoulos used when he interviewed President Obama.   Even if repealed, the SCOTUS has determined that socialism is a protected way of life if you call it a tax.  Even if Obama Care is repealed, the Progressives have won the battle and will advance their war towards one-world order and global rule.  They will proceed, maybe in the next 10 years when they return to power, on the ambition of the third generation of human rights: Fraternity.  They will include: Group and collective rights; Right to self-determination; Right to economic and social development; Right to a healthy environment; Right to natural resources; Right to communicate and communication rights; Right to participation in cultural heritage; and Rights to intergenerational equity and sustainability. From Liberty to Equality and onward to Fraternity yet, many voters are profane ignorance of the true terrorists of freedom.  If we know not our enemy, it makes no grand difference in the selection of our representation.  The ambassador of chaos is an unruly confidant.

     Why so surly this wonderful 4th day of July 2012?  The Progressives have won this battle and will win the oligarchy war.  Many of my conservative friends will accuse me of being overly dramatic, a man wading beyond the confines of conservatism or a loosened cannon that refuses to align himself with established leaders of the variant political parties. There is some truth to such princely allegations.  I appreciate the many that are rallying to aid the Romney Campaign in a mission to have him save the Republic.  However, it will take more than Repealing Obama Care.  Based on SCOTUS’ decision, for the first time in America, your wealth belongs to the government first and foremost.  We are now slaves to Congress’ Taxing Authority, The President’s Ideological Pursuits and SCOTUS’ ability to rewrite legislation to fit within the scope of Progressiveness.  To get this right, we must repeal the economic rights established since FDR and finalized under Obama.  Which Politician Has the Chops to say this to an American people corrupted by entitlements?

     Elmer T. Peterson in The Daily Oklahoman (9 December 1951) wrote: “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government.  It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury.  After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy.”

We saw the will of the political elite executed in plain sight one week before the Celebration of Our Independence.  We saw the Progressives–Obama and Romney–agree that the establishment of Government Superiority is essential to the future of the Republic.  What say you then, is the future of the Republic when lawlessness and enslavement reigns supreme?  Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville said, “The most dangerous moment for a bad government is when it begins to reform.”  When corrupted software is placed on a perfect operating system then, the only expectation is that the operating system will eventually fail.  Whom blames the software because it was perfect in its intent to increase the performance of the machine?  The blame is always placed on the operating system.  The absolute truth is that a corruptible device when added to an existing framework will always ruin the framework.  Our federal bureaucracy, for the well being of the people, has legally installed socialized medicine onto the framework of free-market capitalism and Constitutional freedom and liberty.  This is certainly not the Republic given to men created in the image of God and possessing inalienable rights.
     We are merely a few treasured moments away from experiencing the prophecy of President Ronald Wilson Reagan, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”  Unless, Conservatives unite and demand the Repeal of FDR, the 16th Amendment and the 17th Amendment.  Yes, on this the very day that we celebrate teh revolutionary zeal of our Founding Fathers, we must bring to rememberance one of the most key notes in the Declaration of Independence:
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
Today, we are the USSA.  Tomorrow, we may be just another third world nation under the rule of elite leaders in the UN.  On this and in my House, we resolve to resist the Philistines of the Progressive Movement and Restore the Glory and Honor of Our Liberties in the US Constitution.  What Shall We Do With the Free Man?  We Shall Do Nothing for He Shall join Us in Liberating the enslaved from the confines of socialism!  Let Liberty be our Cry and Tyranny, our fallen traducer!
